Sit to stand from bed/plinth

Sit to stand from bed/plinth

Start in a seated position.
Bring your bottom to the edge of the bed/plinth with your feet slightly underneath you.
Place your hands on the edge of the bed on both sides of your legs.
Lean forward slightly and then press your feet into the ground to stand up straight
Stand up until you are completely upright and then gradually sit back down.
Control this movement and then repeat.
If you do need to use your hands, try to limit their use as much as you comfortably can.
