Self-assisted Barbell Pull Up

Stand behind a barbell that is placed at approximately chin level or lower on the squat rack. Hold the bar with both hands and lower yourself into a squat under the bar.

Pull down on the bar and bring your upper chest towards the bar. Assist with your legs only as much as needed. In a slow controlled manner lower yourself back to the squat.

Note: Focus on using your upper back and arms and assist with legs as little as possible.
