Starting position:
Lie on your back with the affected leg in hip extension, abduction and external rotation, the knee flexed and the ankle in dorsiflexion and eversion.
Assistant / therapist manually first moves the knee into extension, the ankle in plantar flexion and the foot into inversion. Then they move the knee into flexion, the ankle in dorsiflexion and the foot into eversion. Keep the other joints still. Alternate between these two positions.
The technique should be painless.
The movements should only be taken to the point where the patient begins to feel something.
