Assisted long finger flexor and wrist flexor stretch

Assisted long finger flexor and wrist flexor stretch

Sit upright on a stable chair or wheelchair with your back supported with a table in front of you at elbow height
Your assistant can help you to place forearm and hand onto a table, thumb uppermost.
Ensure your wrist is as straight as possible.
Your assistant sits next to your affected arm and takes your hand in a shaking hand grasp so that your fingers run down their wrist as straight as you are able.
The assistant should firmly support your hand whilst gently drawing your forearm away from the wrist in a small movement.
Maintaining a gentle draw, the wrist can then be bent back, with fingers long, as far as is comfortable.
Ensure the wrist does not twist.
Do not force the wrist.
