Deep neck flexors with head rotation with neutral lumbar spine

Deep neck flexors with head rotation with neutral lumbar spine

Sit on a ball.
Tilt your pelvis forwards and back until you find the mid position where your lower back feels comfortable.
Gently nod your chin as though rotating around that pivot point through your ears without tensing your side neck muscles.
Visualise using the deeper muscles that sit behind your throat.
Hold your chin in this position as you first look with just your eyes to one side and then turn your head to follow.
Repeat this movement pattern, turning your head to the left and right while breathing in a controlled manner, expanding your lower ribcage.
You will use other muscles of your neck, and the aim is to keep your deep neck muscles working throughout.

Required equipment: Ball - large, Stability Ball
