Cutting vegetables with a knife

Prepare a chopping board, a knife, and vegetables suitable for cutting.
Hold the knife firmly in one hand.
Use your other hand to keep the vegetable in place, so that it does not move.
Practice cutting with the knife.
Utensils with thick handles are easier to hold.
The grip can be enlarged with for example a cylindrical foam padding.
